LASIK has advantages over other procedures

LASIK is the procedure most commonly performed refractive surgery. You can hear people called him the "Lasix," but the name is actually short for "laser in situ keratomileusis.

Why is it so popular? Stahl Eye Center has advantages over other procedures, such as the relative lack of pain afterwards and the fact that good vision is usually achieved by the next day.

An instrument called a microkeratome is used in LASIK to create a flap, thin circular on the cornea. Another way to make the flap with a laser.

The surgeon folds the flap of the road, then removes some tissue from the cornea by using an excimer laser. The excimer laser uses a beam of cool ultraviolet light to precisely remove ( "removal") in very small pieces of tissue from the cornea to reshape it.

When the cornea is reshaped in the right way, it works better to focus light into the eye and retina, providing clearer vision than before. The flap is then put in place, covering the area where the corneal tissue was removed.

The two people with myopic vision can benefit from LASIK. With nearsighted people, the goal is to flatten the cornea too high for people with vision, steeper cornea is desired. Although this is not widely recognized by consumers, excimer lasers also can correct astigmatism by smoothing an irregular cornea into a more normal shape.

Fragrance That Suits Your Personality

Fragrance That Suits Your PersonalityUsually when people wear a fragrance, they're looking to express a general mood. We must take into consideration that moods are temporary, and perhaps expressing a mood through a fragrance will send a mixed message about your personality. First impressions are everything in this world,
and a fragrance can open your life to opportunities that you've never dreamed of! When someone that smells attractive walks by, you can't help but turn your head and notice that person. The fragrance has all of sudden made you curious about who that person is, and what they're wearing. A fragrance should reflective of your personality, not a mood that you want to portray because you want to demonstrate that you're consistent. When choosing your fragrance the factors that matter the most are originality, and innovation.

Choosing a fragrance that mixes with your body chemistry is your first step. It's important to realize that just because a cologne or perfume smells good on your best friend does not mean it will smell great on you! Most fragrances smell great; the rule is sample until you find something that compliments you. I would recommend sampling no more than 4 fragrances in one day. Sampling means that you need to spray the fragrance on the back of your wrist preferably.

Understanding your signature fragrances will require a little bit of research. Everyone should have at least one fragrance appropriate for the work day, a casual day, and active day, and something for the evening. There are different fragrance categories such as floral, spicy, citrus, and aromatic. It's important to choose the stronger scents for the evening it would be considered in polite to wear anything that is too strong during the day.

The next step to perfecting your signature collection would be to understand your personality. Think of 4 descriptive words to describe who you are, those words will translate into certain fragrance categories. You have to understand a fragrance will form the first impression, so in 15
seconds someone will know who you are! This is something that should be a long process if you haven't made your fragrance collection compatible with your personality. You will discover positive results from those around you, and a fragrance that represents who you are is also good for your morale.

Remember the rules of wearing a fragrance, make a positive impression and make it last! Usually if you spray 1-2 times that will be enough, you definitely don't want to look like you're trying too hard to impress anyone. A few years ago at a fragrance presentation at Bloomingale's, I learned that fragrances evaporate spray once around your ankle area or your wrist. If you do spray in your chest area by the end of the day you will need to spray more, so this is more economical. Blending fragrances is not recommended, if you do make sure one scent is neutral. I strongly encourage blending perfumes with bath and shower gels with like scents of course, this is another great way to make your fragrance last. Goodluck on your signature collection!(InnovativeThinker)

Love Spell by Victoria's Secret : A Horrible Fragrance

There are very few perfumes that make me feel physically ill, but Love Spell by Victoria's Secret is one of them. This is a very popular scent for many women from what I understand, but I can't quite understand why. I can't imagine this smelling good to anyone much less on anyone. Personally, I hope I never smell it again. I am not a perfume snob. I am a fan of both high and low end scents. But this one is just unbearable.

With gift giving opportunities coming up, some shoppers may turn to Victoria's Secret for bath and body gifts. If you're looking at scents sold by Victoria's Secret, skip Love Spell. Trust me, your gift recipient will thank you for not offending their nose with this vile concoction.

There are far better scent choices than Love Spell at Victoria's Secret. Scents such as Dream Angels Heavenly, Dream Angels Desire, Vanilla Lace and Amber Romance are just a few. Dream Angels Heavenly or Dream Angels Desire are for soft floral scent lovers. Vanilla Lace and Amber Romance are suitable for those who like oriental scents, sweet scents, or those with vanilla notes.

Love Spell by Victoria's Secret is classified as a floral fruity fragrance. The description from the Victoria's Secret site reads: "A lavishly lush blend of cherry blossom, muget, red apple and Georgia peach, with hints of tamarind and blondewood."

When I smell Love Spell by Victoria's Secret all I smell is an incredibly disgusting and very strange fake apple, very fruity scent that is nauseating. I love sweet scents, Pink Sugar by Aquolina is one of my favorite scents. I also love some fruity scents such as Delices de Cartier by Cartier, Fantasy by Britney Spears and With Love, by Hillary Duff. But Love Spell is just sickening.

Children of the 1970's and 1980's and beyond will recognize the smell of Love Spell immediately. Do you remember that horrible bubble gum pink liquid children's antibiotic? I had to take that awful medication more times than I care to remember growing up. I would cry and throw a fit when
I was very young, because the taste and smell would just immediately nauseate me. I immediately vomited more than a few doses, because my gag reflex simply wouldn't allow me to keep it down. Love Spell by Victoria's Secret, smells exactly like this children's antibiotic. And I do mean exactly! And it's exactly as nauseating as that antibiotic is.

Another perfume that smells very similar to Love Spell by Victoria's Secret is Heiress by Paris Hilton. This is another scent that is best avoided unless you for some insane reason actually like Love Spell. If you want to read more consumer reviews, join Makeup Alley for free and read the reviews at the link below.

Scents are very subjective and subject to personal tastes. But Love Spell, has absolutely no redeeming features, it's simply vile. And yes, it smells just as vile in all the forms of scent, bath and body products offered by Victoria's Secret. Please spare the people around you and don't wear this horrible scent. I guarantee you that men will run for cover and you will clear any room with this fragrance.(Elizabeth Baldwin)

Fragrance Oils or Essential Oils

Scenting your handmade soaps is a matter of personal preference. If you are are making soaps for your own use, then you can decide to use either fragrance oils or essential oils based on what you like. If you are selling your soaps, consider your market.

Essential oils are all natural plant essences. They can be derived from the plant material by several methods such as: steam distillation, CO2 extraction or cold pressing.

Steam distillation is done with a still. Pressurized steam is forced through the plant matter. The steam then passes through to a cooling chamber, where the steam is converted back to water. The essential oils from the plant are then skimmed off the surface of the water.

CO2 extraction is where liquid carbon dioxide is used to extract the oils. It is similar to the steam distillation in that pressure is used to extract the oils. When the carbon dioxide is allowed to return to its gas state, the essential oil is separated out and collected.

Cold pressed is the process by which the plant material is physically pressed until the essential oil is extracted. Citrus essential oils are commonly processed this way, as the peels are full of essential oils.

There are some scents where there is no essential oil available (such as banana) or the essential oil is much too costly or environmentally irresponsible to use (such as sandalwood or rosewood). This is where fragrance oils come in. Fragrance oils are a mixture of aroma chemicals. The mix can either be part artificial and part synthetic, or all synthetic. It just depends on the type of fragrance oil. Fragrance oils are not perfume oils, they are aroma chemicals which are not diluted, and like essential oils, should not be placed directly on the skin. They need to be diluted into your final product.

Fragrance oils are usually very complex, and can contain hundreds of aroma chemicals. When using fragrance oils for your soap, make sure that you are purchasing from a company that sells oils specifically for soap making. Reputable suppliers will have scents that are formulated according
to the RIFM (Research Institute for Fragrant Materials) standards. This means that the scents are safe for use in bath and body products. You do not want to use fragrances that are meant for candles or potpourri in your soaps, as they could be irritating to the skin.

If you plan on selling your soaps, you want to think about the market you are targeting before deciding which to scent your soap with. If you are going for the natural crowd, then essential oils are your best bet. If you are trying to please a broad audience, then offer both. Some people buy soap for the scent, and don't necessarily prefer an essential oil over a fragrance oil. Which ever you choose, get the best quality you can for your products! (Lori Kimble)
